Heat Shrinkable Compounds (HSC)

Reliable Protection. Lasting Performance.

Our Heat Shrinkable Compounds are specially engineered polymer blends designed to deliver consistent shrinkage and outstanding protection when exposed to heat. Widely used across electrical, automotive, aerospace, and telecom sectors, these compounds ensure insulation, sealing, and mechanical reinforcement in the most demanding environments.

Key Benefits

  • Consistent Shrink Performance
Uniform shrinkage that fits tightly over wires, joints, and terminals.
  • High Electrical Insulation
Safeguards components against electrical failures and short circuits.
  • Environmental Resistance
Protects against moisture, UV rays, chemicals, and mechanical abrasion.
  • Thermal Stability
    Performs reliably in extreme temperatures.
  • Optional Adhesive Lining
Dual-wall options available for watertight seals and enhanced bonding.

Applications

  • Insulation for wires, cables, and terminals
  • Sealing and protection of splices and connectors
  • Automotive and aerospace harnessing
  • Fiber optic cable protection
  • Corrosion protection in outdoor installations

Material Options

  • Polyolefin (most widely used)
  • Crosslinked EVA
  • Fluoropolymers (PVDF, PTFE)
  • Elastomers and modified polyamides
  • Flame-retardant and halogen-free variants available

How It Works

  1. Extrusion – Compound is shaped into tubing or sleeves
  2. Crosslinking – Enhances memory and heat responsiveness
  3. Expansion – The tubing is expanded while hot
  4. Cooling – Locks the expanded shape until applied

Upon heating during application, the material shrinks to conform tightly to the underlying surface—sealing and protecting it.
