Tinna

Ceramic Foam Filters

The primary function of the gating system is to flow metal quickly into the mould with minimal turbulence and to prevent non-metallic inclusions in the liquid metal from entering the mould. While this is still Ceramic Foam Filter main role, they are also used to simplify running systems allowing more castings to be made in a mould and improving the yield of castings.

Tinna offers a range of silicon carbide, zirconia and graphite based filters for steel, iron and non-ferrous alloys.

Ceraform-Fe

Ceraform-Fe is used for filtration of gray cast iron, nodular graphite cast iron, and copper alloys, and is mainly composed of high-purity SiC. It has a three-dimensional mesh structure and a very large internal surface area, and effectively adsorbs and removes non-metallic fine inclusions such as dross and slag in the molten metal when passing through the filter surface and inside. It also prevents eddies when pouring the molten metal, thereby preventing defects caused by eddies. The specifications can be produced in various shapes and sizes, such as square and circular.

Ceraform-Zr

Ceraform-Zr is used for filtration of cast steel and cast steel alloys at temperatures above 1650℃. It is especially recommended for the production of castings that require high quality. Ceraform-Zr is produced using stabilized zirconia (ZrO2) as the main raw material and is a filter with excellent thermal and mechanical properties due to its solid ceramic structure.

Ceraform-AI

Ceraform-Al is mainly composed of high-purity alumina and is used for filtering molten aluminum. The filter has excellent strength due to high-temperature firing at 1300℃, and the internal surface area of the filter is very large due to the three-dimensional mesh structure, and it effectively absorbs and removes non-metallic fine inclusions in the molten aluminum when passing through it.
